How to replace a worn pop-up valve in blast hopper/sand blast pot
1. remove the sandblast hopper hand way assembly by removing the nut from the crab and plate assembly – the hand way will fall inwards but can be rotated 90° to remove from the blast pot
2. Locate the vertical riser pipe inside the blast pot which houses the pop-up valve stem
3. Using a wrench, unscrew the pop-up valve vertical riser pipe from the elbow in the blast hopper – once this has been disconnected you can remove the worn pop-up valve from the sandblaster
4. install the new pop-up valve in the reverse order – it is a good idea to use some sealant tape or anti-seize on the thread of the vertical riser pipe for ease of disassembly at any point in the future
