Looking at the inlet to the Blast Pot, it is likely that you will see a moisture separator. It is there to remove the access moisture from the air coming from the Air Compressor. It is important to remove that moisture but many of the filters that are used as separators were actually designed to be filters and don’t work well as moisture separators.
WHY DON’T THE FILTERS WORK?
The filters are designed to filter dust out of the air being used, not necessarily for the moisture. The filters will get clogged by the dust and cause a problem with restricting the amount of air that can flow through. This will decrease blasting speed by a lot.
UP TO AN 18 PSI PRESSURE LOSS HAS BEEN MEASURED JUST BY THE MOISTURE SEPARATOR
HOW DO I KNOW THAT I LOST PRESSURE?
Use a Nozzle Pressure Gauge Kit for an easy way to measure the loss of pressure to the nozzle. You can also measure the pressure through the blast pot or take the filter out of the moisture separator and see an increase in production.
WHAT TO DO.
Use a High-Performance BlastOne Air Prep Air Dryer to completely get rid of the moisture separator.
Don’t let something like the Moisture Separator hold your production back!
