Check Your Abrasive for Salt and Avoid a Coating Failure

High levels of salt (chloride) in your abrasive can contaminate the surface you are blasting and premature coating failure or flash rusting. It is very important to test for salt before blasting so you will not need to re-blast or completely rework an entire project any surfaces that were done with abrasives that will cause rusting.

Testing for salt?

use the Chlor*Test Chloride Test Kit, it is an abrasives test kit that can be easily used on the field in a couple of minutes. This test can be used on any common blasting abrasive.
By doing this chloride test, you can be sure you are not putting salts onto the steal you are blasting. You can blast with confidence that your job will show high quality and add to a high quality coating job.
