How to calculate the pressure loss in a spray hose, to correctly size your airless spray pump

[pumpsizecalc minimum_pressure=”Minimum fluid pressure required at the pump:” notes=”Note:
Recommended cycle rate for a continuous duty pump circulation system (PCS) is 12 cpm.
Recommended cycle rate for a intermittent duty, dead headed spray system is 20 cpm.”]

To properly size a pump for your application, you need to know the minimum pressure required at the pump to overcome the pressure loss in the fluid line, from the pump to the dispense valve.

The following information is required to properly calculate a “simple” (No elevation) pressure loss from the pump to the dispense valve. You can fill in the blue numbers.
