HOW TO RECOUP LOST PRODUCTIVITY AND PROFITS FROM COVID-19 LOCKDOWN
ATTENTION ALL OWNERS, SUPERVISORS, AND FOREMEN:
If your company lost 2 months of work due to the pandemic lockdown, before concluding you must accept these losses and miss your 2020 target goals give this video and advice due consideration.
To overcome 2 months of losses will require you to increase productivity by 20%+ for the remainder of the year. Now this may sound daunting, it may seem like you’ll need to ask your workers to work like dogs and put in 20% + more time – BUT THAT IS NOT THE CASE!
With over 40 years experience in blasting efficiency and productivity, BlastOne can help you overcome such a hurdle and put your financial goals back on track. One such way is by testing your blaster’s technique. We have found on countless test demos that simply improving a blasting technique can reap over 20% increase in productivity.
IMPORTANT: You will need to test your blasting team as follows.
- Mark off an 2-3 areas approximately 1.5 m2. The actual size doesn’t matter as long as each area is equal to the other.
- Do not explain to your blasters what you are testing for – but rather ask them to blast the first area as fast as they can (upholding standard spec criteria) and time this with a stopwatch.
- Depending on which blasting technique they used (scribble, strip, flick) – ask them to blast the second area as fast as they can, but using a different blasting technique. It’s important that you time this with a stopwatch as well, for accurate comparison. Most blasters won’t be able to tell any time difference between the two blasted areas.
- Repeating this process with each of your blasters BEFORE revealing the results will ensure you get accurate data.
It is our longtime experience that one of the techniques will produce a 20%+ increase in productivity as long as the blaster does not intentionally sabotage the technique the don’t prefer.
