Using an Air Compressor for abrasive blasting? An Air Compressor is one of the most important tools that a blasting operator needs.
We typically say, allow up to 500 cfm per blasting operator. This will ensure that you have ample air for the compressor to not have to run at full capacity all day, every day. A # 8 blast nozzle uses close to 400 cfm, which means you have little left for any leaks, pressure loss, spray pumps, air fed blast helmets and other associated tools and equipment that are found on jobsites.
